Friday, October 9th, 2009What to expect on a June/July Visit
Friday, June 12th, 2009Visiting Yelapa is the low season has many great rewards. The rain which is very similar to Hawaii ( we are on the same latitude) is often at night or in the early morning. The rain brings cooler temperatures and greens all floral life to the max. Cold showers are the best. The Ocean is [...]
low lying fog
Saturday, April 18th, 2009About two weeks ago ..a bright sunny day in Yelapa, when out of the blue and over the incoming mountain came this bed of low lying fog. Never have I seen it…at least not here. Within minutes you couldn’t even see the The Hotel Lagunita. Thirty minutes later it was gone.

communication…down for the count
Friday, August 31st, 2007Well… a high tention power line and or damage to a tower in a nearby community has taken out the power in Yelapa and possibly for a few days. As an extra added bonus throw in a passing hurricane or two. All will be ok but expect wind and rain and very little communication from [...]
1000 miles away
Tuesday, August 21st, 2007When your local news shows the pummeling of Mexico… note that Cancun is a long way away from Yelapa and we are not at all in the path of this Hurricane. The effect on us will be a raise in tourism in Vallarta and a extra handful of new visitors to Yelapa. Living in a [...]
tropical storm sergio… nada
Friday, November 17th, 2006Anyone that saw the reports of the recent Tropical Storm Sergio, know that it has turned farther out to sea and will have very little effect on Yelapa. We might get a tich of rain, but thats all. As a precaution, you might want to line your bags with plastic before you pack.
cascada grande
Sunday, September 17th, 2006The Yelapa Cascada was amazing today! I got up early and was one of the first there to see its glory. Later in the afternoon, The teenagers came and dazzeled all with their acrobatics. This is Nacho and Olivia’s oldest son showing no fear.

Saturday, September 16th, 2006it was fun while it lasted
Saturday, September 16th, 2006Storm Lane took its toll on Yelapa… Yesterday, we had rain the whole day and it continued this morning. The Rio Tuito was huge and continued to grow through the night. Around 1 AM, a huge sound like a lightning bolt sounded… It was the bridge that extends the river, in front of the Primary [...]
john was all talk
Thursday, August 31st, 2006and it’s a good thing… Hurricane John completely passed us by. No rain, no wind. All in all, it was a fun day sort of juiced with adventure. The kids got the day off school and I was home all day, rare for us all. Tomorrow, top priority is to reassemble the office .
