Here’s another one of the amazing beasts found in Yelapa. These clownlike racoon/badgers are frequent visitors to your casa, looking for food you forgot to put away. No worries as they run when confronted but when cornered by a dog, they often win , with the help of their sharp claws.

Heres Danny, now 13 years old with a freshly caught canclo. Remember that these beasts are good, seeing that they eat scorpions. I have written about the canclo’s in earlier entries. You will see insects while visiting Yelapa but few will bother you.

The other night we watched this spider attack and eat a grasshopper. These spiders are very common here in Yelapa. they are very large and flat and also fast. Anyone know what type of spider they are?

Found on the floor of the bay and usually at night are Lobster. Pictured here is Samuel, who is a master diver. Throughout the year, he returns home always with a bounty of fish, octopus or lobster. If your up for an adventure, contact him across from the new tortillaria.
