cuidado!
Another from the tourism killer files…bulls loose on the trails…yup, that’s right! On occasion.. we have running of the bulls on our caminos. Traffic comes from both ways …sometimes they are bringing in bulls from Chacala and pasture and then sometimes they are bringing bulls out of town. In general you will hear the cry of the cowboys..”ooowwww” as in “slow” and usually the bull has a bell ringing. These are your clues to get off the trail and a good distance. Once you see a bull charge up close you will add a great deal of distance till you feel safety. I write this for your knowledge… a few days ago , Vero warned me as I was leaving her moms casa to stay as they were running bulls, with my years of experience I pretty much proceeded. As I got to the top of the trail I took a cautious look both ways . What I didn’t realize was that they were bringing a mad rodeo bull down shit creek and exactly where I would be entering the trail. In a flash this giant beast appeared, snarled at me and then came flying a cowboy trying to hold on to a rope with a frail effort to control the bull…20 seconds later came a friend from the path with the news that the bull had a one on one adventure with a woman and she was seriously injured, quickly she was stabilized and taken to Guadalajara. Now don’t go and freak out and or send me numerous emails about bulls and or let this story keep you up at nights…I tell you the story in the faith of information….
