In April 2005, we took a panga ride to the beach in Pizota and hiked for about an hour to a beautiful waterfall in the jungle. Our guide was very knowledgeable about all the plants, animals, etc. and spoke good English. The highlight of the trip was swimming under the falls and in the big lagoon. The day was very warm, especially with the exertion, but the water was very cool! We saw land crabs scurry across the leafy terrain and climbed over big boulders in streams surrounded with all sorts of vegetation. This was as "raw" and close to nature as you can get. I agree, Viva Pizota!
