welcome to palapainyelapa.com
Our main vision is to encourage and assist your visit to Yelapa. After visiting and living in Yelapa for almost twenty years and being married to a lifetime Yelapense, we offer to share our experience and community relationships with you. We represent many of the nicest rentals in Yelapa, owned by the nicest people. We hope you enjoy reading about our fishy, little, sleeping village and if we can be of service, feel free to contact us. Take a look below for information, stories, pictures and more, live from Yelapa.
April 2008 Update! The temperature has begun to rise and Yelapa is mostly bright and sunny. Tourism has slowed down and the thoughts of summer are upon us. I am currently working out of my home office at Casa Iguana, on the path to Chacala. Stop and say hi while here on your visit to our paradise.

April 24th, 2008The other day while at Los Sueños, up the stairs of the main entrance came these two women. I quickly thought that they must be with the government or another county office…as they came closer I could almost read the name tags…COSTCO!!! yeah… Yelapa is changing… when you have COSTCO coming door to door selling memberships to the brand spanking new location in Vallarta. what’s next?…

April 6th, 2008Las Cañas
April 6th, 2008My father in Law and his Brothers have a ranch located high above Pizota called “Las Cañas”. Last year, they put a road in where an old horse trail used to be and therefore opened 4 wheel drive access to a spot where very few have seen. It is one of the many stops on my Cultural Tours. The season is practically over and road access has a few months before the rains will shut things down. Next year make sure to come and visit it with me. It is one of the most amazing bird watching areas in this part of México.

Months ago, a new reality based TV series came to visit and shoot in Yelapa. The high def edition of “Pressure Cook” has aired and I recently got a chance to see the footage. I am most certainly now, the super spokesman for Yelapa Pies. This week while on the trail instead of …”are you the internet guy?’ came ‘Your the guy from the tv show!’ I asked if he recognized my face or my belly? anyways… this week at Casa Iguana when we need a laugh and we re-watch the footage… and by the way, on my spot, they used my first and last name with the title “local expatriate”… Is that what I am?

February 5th, 2008tuito getaway
January 30th, 2008One of our favorite towns to visit and relax is Tuito. I see it as an old world city that is simple and clean. Lots of good fresh food, a nature’s playground filled with kind people. A few years ago, I brought Greg and Joni who have “Casa Amarilla” in Yelapa for a Tuito visit. A plan was hatched and later a casa was purchased and even better, now you have the opportunity to visit. Under their casa is “la Gruta” a sweet little apt. that is now available for Tuito visits and even better it can be combined with a visit to the amazing Botanical Gardens closeby. Here is a link to the apartment.

January 30th, 2008Matt, born in Yelapa was raised here till his teens, returned this past few weeks as a sort of pilgrimage to revisit some of his past. It was quite an adventure for him and with great rewards. Jerry from Casa de los Arboles coincidentally found a huge box of old family photos. With a little nudge, I’m hoping Matt will share some stories of Yelapa Life Past with all of you.
